Dairy Products Are The Number One Food Products To Avoid When Undergoing IBS Treatment

People who suffer from IBS, or irritable bowel syndrome, have got to be able to add extra caution when it comes to the foods that constitute their diet because there are certain foods that can agitate the syndrome and cause great discomfort to the individual, which is why it is important to be able to identify what these foods are so that they can be eliminated from their diet for once and for all.

Regardless of whether the individual actually suffers from constipation or diarrhea, it is important to keep in mind that they need to avoid foods that trigger irritable bowel syndrome. On the top of the list of these foods to avoid, you will find dairy products, which have always been one of the common culprits when it comes to problems associated with digestion and bowel movement. Despite the fact that dairy food products actually contain a lot of essential nutrients, people who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome need to avoid them at all costs.

When we talk about diary food products, we are referring to the following:

– butter,
– cheese,
– cottage cheese,
– cream cheese,
– creamer,
– eggs,
– ice cream,
– milk,
– ricotta,
– sour cream,
– whip cream,
– and yoghurt.

These food products need to be avoided because the colon, which has been previously damaged for whatever reason, cannot endure these types of food since they are not readily digested by the stomach. In addition to that, people who have irritable bowel syndrome tend to complain about intense pain in the abdominal region upon consumption of these dairy-based products. These complaints only serve as extra proof that these types of foods only aggravate the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

It would be helpful to avoid these foods, among others that have not been mentioned above, because the fact of the matter is that people who have signs of a damaged colon need to make sure that their condition will not get worse. The poor form of their colon makes it difficult for the patient to digest the things that they used to be able to digest with ease.

Although these are not the only foods that should be avoided, these are the highest ranking when it comes to dealing with this condition, especially for those who are currently undergoing IBS treatment. By doing so, the patient will be able to feel the symptoms start to subside and they will feel less discomfort as long as they continue to maintain the appropriate diet that is recommended to them by their physician.
